Common Questions on Escape rooms
What is an escape room?
An escape room is an immersive, live-action adventure where teams solve puzzles to complete a mission, typically within 60 minutes.
How many players can participate?
Our rooms can accommodate 2-8 players. Larger teams can book multiple rooms (link).
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, booking in advance is best, but feel free to drop in if you’re passing and fancy an adventure – there may well be one waiting for you.
When should we arrive?
Please arrive by your scheduled start time. This ensures you have time for your team briefing and start your adventure promptly.
What if we arrive late?
Arrivals more than 10 minutes after the adventure is scheduled to start may result in a shorter game or forfeiture of the booking without refund. We’re not monsters, though – keep us posted and we’ll do what we can to make sure you get to play.
How long does the experience last?
The game itself is 60 minutes, but plan for a total of 1½ hours, which includes briefing, debriefing, and a team photo at the end.
What about cancellations and rescheduling?
Cancel more than 14 days before your session and you get a full refund. More than 7 days before your session and you get 50% refund.
No refunds are given for cancellations within 7 days of the session. Rescheduling requests must be made at least 7 days in advance and are subject to availability.
Can we request hints?
Of course! Your Game Master will monitor your progress and provide hints if needed. But do you really need them? Really?
Is it suitable for beginners?
Definitely! Our rooms are designed to challenge both beginners and experienced players alike.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended, but there are no specific attire requirements. We will, however, be awarding prizes for the team who “dress” the best for their specific adventure.
Are the rooms physically demanding?
No, our rooms focus on mental challenges rather than physical activity. No heavy lifting or strenuous movement is required, in fact, if you have to force anything, it means you need to do something else first…
What happens if we don’t escape in time?
You get locked in forever!
Actually, you don’t. If time runs out, your Game Master will let you out and answer any questions you have about what was missed. But only if you ask – you could always come back and give it another go.
Is there an age limit?
No, but most of the puzzles are set for age 8 and above. Anyone under 17 must be accompanied by an adult, please.
Is it scary?
Some rooms, like Detonate, may include intense elements like smoke or strobe lights, but our focus is on puzzles and fun rather than fear. For now…
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Currently, the rooms are located on an upper floor without lift access, but we are working on improving accessibility with a stair lift. More info to follow soon. Keep an eye on our social media.
Might we have to play with strangers?
No, your booking is private to your group. That doesn’t stop you bringing strangers – there’s nothing like an escape room for finding out what people are like.
What if someone has health conditions?
Please let us know of any health conditions like epilepsy or severe anxiety before booking, as some rooms contain smoke, strobe lights, or dark environments.
Can I take photos inside the room?
We don’t mind you taking photos inside the room, as long as you tag us in on your socials and try not to reveal anything about the puzzles – no one like spoilers! We will also provide you with a team photograph afterwards in our special Photo Finish area.
Are there lockers for personal items?
Yes, lockers are available for personal belongings. You will keep the key for the locker during the game. Spoiler: it doesn’t unlock anything in the escape room. Probably…
